Meet Kat Miller – your personal strength and conditioning coach

My name is Katrina – otherwise known as Kat. I’m a hardworking, introverted, 42 year-old Capricorn.
I recently saw a meme about Capricorn:
“I am not even good enough for myself”
– A Book by Capricorn
Yeah, I have definitely had to work hard on thoughts of not enough-ness. One big factor of my hardworking ways. I became a mum at 20 and again at 31 – a daughter and son I love both to bits. In my early 20s to mid 30s I worked in Law, from an office junior to qualified lawyer. I felt I had a lot to prove being a young mum, and initially I loved the grind, but soon became clear as I got older that the job was no longer aligned with my personal values and goals.
It took its toll on my physical and mental self. You can’t operate from a place of doing too much for too long before it all catches up on you.
Then one day, I had a moment.
I thought hard about the women around me and I didn’t like what I saw, heard and felt. They were all struggling in one way or another. Myself included.
I am not OK with women not being OK. But it had to start with me.
So, I started working towards my best health and best life.
At 40+ I feel better than ever before. I love lifting weights. It’s my therapy and the most beneficial and truly pivotal thing I have ever done to change my body, health and mind. Most days it comes down to carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders or lifting some heavy things. Whilst my own personal fitness journey has previously been a rocky one, I have found the secret to backing myself and getting into my uncomfortable zone. In 2019 I tried triathlon and continue to be, a what I call, a try-athlete. I test my limits with my weights and sessions whether strength or cardiovascular fitness focused where I would never have dared to go before.
It’s my ambition to deliver simple and doable health and fitness solutions to busy women who are trying to do it all. I know the struggles to stay on top of self-care, especially when it comes to health and fitness routines. I even got mad at myself sometimes for not doing everything right!
I am a member of Fitness Australia and am a big believer in lifelong learning. I invest in continuing education beyond my Certificate III and IV in Fitness with qualifications in:
